Privacy policy.

Last updated 4 October 2026.

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect as little as we can.

Who we are

Lontano is a trading name of TURIN LTD, registered in England and Wales, company no.[PENDING], registered office [PENDING]. TURIN LTD is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@oliolontano.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

The waiting list. If you join it, we collect your email address and a record of your consent (when you gave it and when you confirmed it). We use it to tell you when the first bottles are ready and, now and then, to send you news about Lontano. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us.

Trade enquiries. If you send one, we collect your business name, your name, email, town, type of business, and, if you give them, your phone number, your message and whether you would like a sample. We use them to reply to you, to discuss supplying your shop and to send a sample if you asked for one. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and building a business with the shops that write to us, and, where you ask us to, taking steps before entering into a contract with you.

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address so that we can reply.

Technical data. Like any website, ours is served through a provider that processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam; it checks signals from your browser for that purpose only. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. That is why there is no cookie banner.

Who processes your data for us

  • Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, security, spam protection, privacy-friendly analytics and the forwarding of email sent to our address.
  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): stores the waiting list and trade enquiries, and sends our emails.
  • Google: the mailbox where we receive and answer email.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Waiting list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a suppression list so that we never write to you again.
  • Trade enquiries: for up to two years after our last exchange, unless we go on to do business together, in which case we keep what the law requires for business records.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to info@oliolontano.co.uk; we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
